Secret Strings Pop Orchestra at a London Gala Dinner
Our 12-piece Pop String Orchestra performed at an exclusive black-tie gala dinner in central London, delivering a two-hour programme spanning Vivaldi, Queen, and Adele — all arranged specially for the ensemble.
The Event
This black-tie gala dinner called for an ensemble capable of filling a grand room with sound while still fitting the formality of the evening. Our 12-piece Pop String Orchestra was booked to provide a full two hours of live music, performing continuously through arrivals, dinner, and the evening's key moments.
A Programme Built to Move Between Moods
The two-hour set was designed to flow across the whole evening, moving between:
- Classical repertoire — including Vivaldi, for elegant arrivals and dinner background music
- Pop and rock anthems — including Queen, arranged for strings to bring energy without a full band
- Contemporary hits — including Adele, giving the evening a warmer, more emotive close
This kind of programming is exactly why a pop string orchestra works so well for a London gala dinner: guests get the gravitas of a classical ensemble and the recognisable, crowd-pleasing energy of pop arrangements, all performed live by the same group of musicians.
Why Book a Pop String Orchestra for a Gala Dinner
- A larger ensemble fills bigger rooms and formal settings without needing amplification
- A mixed classical/pop programme suits the full arc of a gala evening, from arrivals to speeches to the after-dinner atmosphere
- Bespoke arrangements mean the set can be shaped around your guests, your brand, and the tone you want for the night
Frequently Asked Questions
How many musicians are in the Pop String Orchestra?
Our Pop String Orchestra typically performs as a 12-piece ensemble, though we can scale the size up or down depending on your venue and event.
Can the orchestra play continuously for two hours?
Yes — for longer events we build a full, varied programme in advance so the music flows naturally across the whole evening, including appropriate breaks for speeches or key moments.
Is this suitable for other types of formal events?
Very much so — the same format works well for award ceremonies, charity dinners, and other black-tie corporate events across London.
