Performing at the Home of One of Britain’s Biggest Newspapers
An Exclusive Women’s Day Celebration at the Metro Head Office, London
We were absolutely delighted to be invited to perform at the head office of the Metro — one of the most widely read and instantly recognisable newspapers in the United Kingdom. The occasion was an exclusive internal Women’s Day celebration, hosted at the Metro’s London headquarters at Northcliffe House, and it was an experience that left every member of our team deeply moved and genuinely inspired.
To be asked to perform at the heart of one of the biggest newspapers in the UK, on such a meaningful and significant day, was something we felt incredibly honoured by. Women’s Day events carry a particular emotional weight — there’s a sense of celebration, solidarity, and pride in the room that makes performing feel like a privilege rather than simply a performance.
Northcliffe House: A Venue Unlike Any Other
Performing at the Heart of British Media
The Metro’s London headquarters at Northcliffe House in Kensington is not a typical event venue — and that’s precisely what made performing there so special. Walking through the building, you feel the energy and history of British journalism all around you. To bring live strings into that space, for an event celebrating women within one of the country’s most influential media organisations, felt genuinely significant.
Our solo violinist performed as guests arrived for the Women’s Day celebration — creating a warm, intimate atmosphere that perfectly complemented the occasion. The response was extraordinary. As the Deputy Editor of Metro reflected:
“Her music choices were perfect and so many people said they found it incredibly moving as they walked into the room hearing her play.” — Deputy Editor, Metro
That kind of feedback is what we live for. The ability of a single violinist — no backing track, no amplification, just strings — to create a moment that stops people in their tracks and genuinely moves them is something we never take for granted.
Why Live Solo Violin Works So Beautifully at Corporate Celebrations
Intimate, Elegant & Deeply Human
There is something uniquely powerful about a solo violinist in a room. Unlike a full ensemble, the solo performer is entirely exposed — every note, every nuance, every breath of the bow is present and unadorned. For an occasion like Women’s Day, where the intention is to celebrate, reflect, and connect, that intimacy is precisely the right musical choice.
Why our clients choose solo violin for special corporate occasions:
- Creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere as guests arrive
- Visually elegant and immediately impressive without dominating the space
- Repertoire tailored to the tone of the occasion — celebratory, reflective, or energetic
- Perfect for smaller event spaces, internal corporate celebrations, and press events
- An intimate experience that feels personal and considered
- Can move through the room, interact with guests, and adapt in real time
An Incredible Day & an Absolute Delight to Be Part Of
Celebrating Women in British Media
Performing for the Metro on International Women’s Day was, in every sense, an absolute delight. It was an incredible event — a genuine celebration of the talented women within one of the UK’s most-read publications — and we felt privileged to contribute to it through live music.
Events like this remind us why we do what we do. The right music at the right moment can transform an occasion, make people feel something they didn’t expect to feel, and create a memory that lasts long after the day itself.
